As a result of the server browser returning an error that the master server was down (due to the unexpected shut-down of X-Serverz (http://www.x-serverz.com), ALL SERVER OWNERS must download the new server build in order for the server to be listed on the servers list. Additionally, all VCO players MUST obtain a new client in order to obtain the patched server browser with the new master server contact information. This server browser should prevent these master server change updates in the future, regardless if the master server host has been changed.

The new download is available on the Downloads page on the Vice City Online official website.

Apologies for the inconvenience,
ReGeX

Dear VCO Community,

We are currently aware that the master server is down, due to the old host, X-Serverz (http://www.x-serverz.com), shutting down unexpectedly. Fortunately, I have arranged for a new master server host to continue to run the master server. In addition to the change of the host, it has been planned that this will be the last time a browser and server update is necessary for these types of updates.

Further Information:
I hate to make promises, but I was informed that it should be back up and running by tomorrow by 23:59:59 (GMT).

My sincerest apologies for the inconvenience,
ReGeX

Yes, you read it! We are opening up a new application system for our most loyal and dedicated members. With this system, you can apply to become a part of the Vice City Online Quality Control (Q/C) Team.

As a Q/C Team member, your opportunity to try out and test evolving VCO software in development would be envied by many GTA multi-player gamers. For eventual public release, sifting through the client's features and reporting bugs would be the primary entities for making sure that VCO is released to the public as polished as possible.

Other entities encompassed by the daily routines of a Q/C Team member are public liaisons, being available to members of the public for assistance with current releases and more upon request.

If you feel that you have what it takes, and would like to join our team, then apply for the position today!

Hit the Apply button on the site's main menu, or go to:

It's finally here! A sneak peek into VCO's RC2 client and server development.

This video demonstrates the impressive amount of sync you can expect from the filmer, who experiences FPS lag on his near broken laptop, and also had a ping of an average of 403ms to the test server.

You will also be treated to preview of weapon sync, which shows off the accuracy of when a specific body part is targeted.

Our next video will be out soon, and will be filmed with a lower latency to the test server, to show off RC2 from a different angle.

We are pleased to announce that we have decided to sub-let our domain out to various people, whose commitment to the VCO project has been shown through dedication and aspiration.

Sub-domains have been handed out, and at the time of writing this, two sub-sites have spawned as a result.

The theme of the sites, so far, has been scripting. The VCO stock Lua scripts are very basic, and there is a demand for better and more advanced ones, demonstrating VCO's many functions and capabilities. We'd like to thank those people who have dedicated their time to help out the project by delivering more advanced Lua scripts, aiding hungry server owners, and also in helping to make VCO more attractive to the worldwide gaming market.

If anyone would like more information about starting a sub-site on the vicecityonline.com domain, please contact ReGeX or post on our forums.

Please visit our Links page to find a list of the sub-sites.

Welcome to VCO's newest server browser, complete with new features and improved functionality. The browser, as you've probably witnessed already, is lag-free compared to the old one, for the old one was completely scrapped and redone.

This page will contain information regarding updates for VCO, so you will not have to go back to the home page every single day. Now, you can check for updates, news, warnings, and hot topics regarding VCO in the comfort of the server browser, with viewing the server list only pixels away!

The VCO team would like to thank all of its supporters and players during RC1, for we have now began work on RC2, with this browser as an opportunity to dive in head-first to see what wonders RC2 will have to offer!
